This is the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan (the Plan) for the Nelson Tasman combined region. It has been prepared by the Nelson Tasman Civil Defence Emergency Management Group (the CDEM Group).
The CDEM Group is a partnership between the Nelson City and Tasman District Councils and the emergency services to ensure the effective delivery of civil defence emergency management in Nelson Tasman. A brief overview of the CDEM Group is given in section 1.2 (page 7) with more detail in Part 5: Administrative Arrangements.
The area covered by the CDEM Group and this Plan is shown in Figure 1.1 (page 3). It includes all of Nelson City and Tasman District and includes the coastal marine area under the jurisdiction of both councils.
This Plan is operative for five years following its approval by the CDEM Group. The Plan, or parts of it, can be reviewed and amended at any time during this period. This Plan covers all of Nelson City and Tasman District and includes the coastal marine area.
